The printer market is still a good market to get into despite the heavy competition. There can never be enough printers available as there are thousands of businesses that need one and maybe even larger companies and corporations needing a dozen. All the different printers available show that it is pretty difficult making that perfect business printer. You can make a printer highly capable of doing all sorts of things but then you end up with a bulky and complicated machine that may be difficult to use if you go too overboard with the features.
Some printers that have good functions may not perform properly as advertised. No business wants a printer that has frequent paper jams and other problems. Konica Minolta is launching one particular laser printer called the Konica Minolta Magicolor 5670 colour laser printer. While the features don't look extremely competitive, it does have some hidden gems and it handles its intended jobs quite well.
Printing Benefits
One of the major strengths of the Konica Minolta Magicolor 5670 colour laser printer is its ability to print large media sizes. The spec sheet claims that it can handle sizes as small as a standard postcard all the way up to banner sizes measuring 8.5 inches wide and 47.24 inches long. This should give a lot of flexibility to office users. Printing speeds are exceptional at 35 PPM for colour or black and white on average. It can also store up to 1,600 sheets of paper.
Duplex printing is also available to save paper and increase the speed of multi-page prints. If large print operations are initiated, distribution can be tedious. There is an optional staple finisher with two output bins so up to 30 sheets can be stapled. Offset stacking jobs are available as well.
As a colour laser printer, the Konica Minolta Magicolor 5670 colour laser printer does a decent job with the colour control. It relies on eAIDC or Enhanced Automatic Image Density Control for calibration. This ensures colour accuracy for all parts of the page. With support for ICC Profiles, PANTONE Colour, and Dynamic Contone Screening, the colour quality is flexible as well to meet certain needs. PostScript 3 and PCL 6 emulation is also provided along with native XPS functionality if you have Windows Vista or a newer operating system installed.

There is also a USB port so any flash drives that have photos can be directly printed. It is also rich in networking features as it has a Gigabit Ethernet port which is required for fast network printing operations. Because it uses the IPv6 protocol, more Magicolor devices can be connected to a network as the IPv6 protocol opens up more addressing possibilities. Software is included in the package to make device management simple.
Priced at under £500, the Konica Minolta Magicolor 5670 colour laser printer is a nice deal for business with large networks. Just remember that this isn't a multifunction printer so it is more focused on printing tasks.
