Welcome back to some more Mario Kart Wii races on some custom tracks! This time, it's something additionally special. Not only has 4TB MrBean (MrBean35000vr) come to race with us again, but he brought his brother, Chadderz! Chadderz is the one that has developed a program known as the "SZS Modifier" which allows various edits to Mario Kart Wii files, making custom tracks possible. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't be racing on any of these tracks! Besides, from what I understand, he hardly races anyway, so it was a nice inclusion to race him Also, this time, we had the curtesy of having LAB⁂Michel (MrApple35000vr) host, and she certainly hosted some fun CTGPs for the day! Mario fights, Mario runs endlessly through different worlds, Mario transforms, Mario plays soccer and Mario rides adorable dinosaurs. All that was lacking for Mario to do was racing. Nintendo has now even done that. Mario Kart Wii is the best racing game for Wii. And there are many reasons for that:

• The Wii Wheel
• The diverse settings and tracks in the game
• The exciting Multiplayer mode

The Wii Wheel which is connected to the Wii Remote is what makes this game entertaining. Players experience the feeling of racing in this game. During the initial release of the game, the wheel was just used to simulate the steering of the karts in the game. However, later on several extra abilities were added to increase the functionality of the Wii Wheel. Flicking the wheel can make the kart do certain stunts.

The game developers have slightly modified the speed boost features of the karts in the previous games, in this game. Instead of increasing speed boosts by recursively drifting, the speed boosts in Mario Kart Wii increase based on the length of the drifts and the angle of the drift. Speed Boosts can also be acquired by doing stunts in the air. With 24 different playable characters in the game, Nintendo has provided with thirty six karts and motorbikes to choose from. Characters can only use specific vehicles according to their weights in order to race faster and perform better.  Players can also use their Mii, or their Nintendo Player Avatar as playable characters also.

The game has several modes. Unlike the previous games, the Grand Prix mode is only available in the single player mode. The Grand Prix mode consists of a set of cups. Each cup competition contains four races of 50 cc, 100 cc and 150 cc. The game also contains a Time Trial mode which tests the kart’s time in the track. The fastest race is saved as a ghost and the player’s objective to beat the ghost in subsequent races in this mode. There is also the Balloon Mode, which consists of two teams competing and where balloons are attached the vehicle, and upon the bursting of all balloons by the opponent’s weapon, the team loses a point.

Mario Kart Wii also supports the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. Hence online multiplayer races are possible in this game. All the modes except for Grand Prix mode as mentioned above can be contested in the online mode. Players can either play with their friends (up to 12 participants in a race are allowed) or they can compete with people of the same rank (based on the number of skill points accumulated) in other parts of the world.

To sum it all up, Mario Kart Wii is the defining moment in Nintendo’s list of games in the racing segment. The Wii Wheel brings the required feeling of actually racing a kart, and the different modes as well karts will leave the player trying out the different combinations and characters, vehicles and tracks for a very long time. To add to that, the online multiplayer mode will keep the player entertained at a more challenging level. In the technical aspect of the game, the graphics of the game do not cause any glitches nor does it freeze the game. The objective in the game is quite simple, yet the detailing in the game is very exquisite and sophisticated.
